Notes
Final 4 1477 (H1 - 2057, L19 - 651) GM Charlie doesn't really like the reporters at the CTR.  But we do like GM Charlie and we like this team.  Most recently GM Charlie exploded, telling the CTR to "Get the facts" before printing the crap we do.  That was about the crap offers GM Charlie received for Erat, that being the reason he kept Erat, over he is "High on his players."  So now we retract and think both are true; GM Charlie received crap offers and he is high on his players.  Who wouldn't be with this team?  The best NHLP built Wings team with awesome matchup potential outside the Wings of Vancouver, Boston and Philadelphia.  Looks like a good matchup against St Louis (Tyson) in round one, but things will get scary with each game Zetterberg misses.  We just want to grab Charlie's cheek like Grandma use to do and say "Good job Chucky, ole boy.  You got yourself a opportunity to win the NHLP Championship".  Well deserved here!
75 2 1697 (H1 - 2057, L19 - 651) CTR stated, "99.9% chance GM Charlie trades Erat for why would he risk Nashville not making it, being up all those points?"  WRONG!  The CTR called yet another one wrong as GM Charlie would not bite on any offer he received for Erat.  many GM's stated he was unrealistic in what he expected in return.  That should not be a surprise though, as GM Charlie is always highest on his own guys and doesn't part often with much.  What a great team with a great Cup shot.  If a Wings run does not occur GM Charlie still has the opportunity to win it all on a matchup of Boston - Philadelphia against Nashville or Vancouver.  This is one of the best chances Charlie has ever had so it will be enjoyable if it does fall into place.
70 2 1922 (H1 - 2057, L19 - 651) Pay attention.  GM Charlie will not be at the NHLP Trading Deadline.  He has 29 points to work with and he must move Erat's 42 points, unless he believes in Nashville's chances.  Why would he take that risk?  So there is a 99.9% chance of a pre-meeting deal.  Is it a 1-1 or multi-player deal?  What this deal will do is totally change another division.  We know how GM Charlie works, so you can bet it won't be a deal to an East Division team.  The wolves need to grab these points before they go elsewhere and change your own opportunities from OK to Oh Shit!  Charlie holds all the cards, for not too many NHLP teams can just give whatever they want in points, with no fear.
65 2 2038 (H1 - 2057, L19 - 651) We just don't ever recall GM Charlie having a better shot at winning an NHLP Championship.  Seriously, how good is this team's chances?  Miami has 6 players, in one and two seeds, as well as 31 points to work with.  The big question is the first round scoring.  Is it enough?  Charlie can do anything he wants, but is he going to be content with this great team or aggressive to try and strengthen this team and bring it over the top?  Always easier to just say it over go out and doing it, but that is what a GM must try and do at least.  Great moments are born from great opportunity.  That is what Charlie has earned here this season.
60 1 2057 (L19 - 651) All of a sudden this team is on fire.  A February with 66 points to lead the entire league.  This team has 5 players on first and second seeded teams and Bergeron and Erat to boot.  This is crazy!  The previous highest CTR for Charlie here this season was 4th, reached twice.  GM Charlie still has 33 to work with.  This is Charlie's best shot ever!  This is the here and now.  He needs to do whatever it takes to finish it off here, for these opportunities just don't come around every year.  We LOVE this team!
55 5 1597 (H4 - 1730, L19 - 651) Ask and you shall receive!  The CTR asked for scoring and with 27 points in the first 11 days of February, enough to lead the entire South Division, GM Charlie got what he needed.  Ten of those have come from Samuelsson who has been insane.  Bertuzzi and Kronwall has been a little insane themselves.  Insanely BAD!  They will have to be better come playoff time or this three player Detroit team could be gone quick.  Charlie now has two non playoff players worth 62 points in Berglund and Brouwer, but we still love this team.  (One more point of interest.  If GM Charlie is to have a baby born 11-11-11, the birthday of his favorite number, the only same numbered birthday the rest of our lifetimes - the best conception date is February 18th.  Really though, as if Charlie needs more distractions from his NHLP teams!)
50 5 1560 (H4 - 1730, L19 - 651) This is the leagues big Red Wings team.  The Miami B's with Bergeron, Bertuzzi, Berglund and Brower.  Not Bad.  Zetterberg is the team leader, which is a great thing.  What isn't great, is GM Charlie lost ground to every team chasing him in the division, by almost a double digit month each.  Still up 18 points on 5th, Chuck needs his boys doing a little more, or come March 1st, he will only be up a single digit up on 5th.
45 6 1653 (H4 - 1730, L19 - 651) Just another awesome NHLP team.  Hard to belief how good some teams are.  Only one team can win, but this is a serious threat as things sit.  Great job, great team!
40 4 1730 (L19 - 651) GM Charlie added his third Red Wing at the Winter Meeting and has made a statement to the other GM's with this new CTR.  Watch out!  Still 35 points to play with and seven Surf boards, Charlie can move any one he chooses when he sees the right swell.  This opportunity is very real.
35 4 1553 (L19 - 651) It seems for the past several seasons GM Charlie has a team with all kinds of potential and than the New Year comes and its gone with the countdown.  Does Charlie just have no finish?  NEW YEAR'S WISH:  A Red Wings run to the Finals with Chicago or Vancouver making the Semis and playing Boston.  We love the chance, and with 38 points to work with, Havlat and Myers are added playoff players at any point.  All Chuck needs is a finish, for all the makings are right there for a Championship!
30 5 1385 (L19 - 651) Still 29 points up on 5th even though the scoring has slowed down.  Havlat and Myers continue to be 37 points of dead weight, so expect something at some point with all this position.  A really strong Red Wings mix with Zetterberg who is great and Bertuzzi, although maybe slowing, still worth a pretty penny on the black market.  This team is solid.  (“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” - The Godfather)
25 8 1325 (L19 - 651) Zetterberg and Bertuzzi are the backbone here on a team with a lot of position to improve.  Samuelsson has increased his seeding, but still nothing from Havlat and Myers.  These are two players totaling about 34 points to the minors.  You might want to act now!
20 10 1173 (L19 - 651) Still 26 points up on 5th, and sitting with top seeded assets Zetterberg and Bertuzzi, of the number one team in the NHL.  How is this team only at 1173 in the CTR ratings?  Well, no ratings from Roy, Arnott and Myers aren't helping.  Havlat and Brouwer are fringe seeds at best.  This team, only has position, and two Detroit players helping this rating.  GM Charlie needs to work his points, something past history tells us, isn't likely to happen!!!  A great hockey coach, but an NHLP, average GM!
15 9 974 (H9 - 1053, L19 - 651) First place in the South.  Let's rephrase that.  This team is killing every other team in the South standings, not even remotely in any way close at all.  19 points up on 2nd and 26 points up on 5th.  Still has over half the team unrated.  GM Charlie has the potential, but does he have what it takes to improve this team with those points?
10 9 1053 (L19 - 651) The CTR is much improved, but only thanks to the Red Wings improved ranking, and a whopping 23 points up in potential over 5th place in the South.  WOW!  Four players still not ranked and those teams, the Sabres, Devils and Wild are not really showing a lot of life yet at all.  When do you decide to ship guys out from those teams?  We are 12% through the season.  Most say that is early, but we say, that is 12%, almost 15% and working on 25%.  Have those teams shown a reason they can turn things around in the next 10 games?  Always fun questions that are always easy for us to answer.
5 19 651 Just a horrible rating from the South's first place Surf.  Half the team is on the beach while only Bertuzzi (when did he become a scorer again), Zetterberg and Brouwer are being ranked.  Nothing from Buffalo or New Jersey and that will need to change, first place or not, before this Surf rides the CTR to the top.
