Final     Missed Playoffs
75 10 1140 (H2 - 1962, L13 - 771) We got the Jack Johnson deal.  That one made sense.  Then they traded Benn and Eaves, plus 10 points for Wolski and Campbell, when much better was free in the minors.  They traded themselves not only out of the playoffs, but their Cup hopes away with one lapse in judgement.  Sitting with Datsyuk and Cleary, that final trade will likely be the one they get nightmares about if they miss and Detroit does run to the finals.  They are a point up on 5th and the worst scoring team in the West, for the month of March, and now with Datsyuk and Sharp injured.  They just cut themselves much to thin when it wasn't necessary.  We just didn't get it then and still don't now.
70 5 1501 (H2 - 1962, L13 - 771) A lot of NHL talk about a team in Winnipeg next season.  Well, in the NHLP, there is one here already and a damn good one!  Finally this team (NHLP Franchise in Winnipeg) is getting the respect they deserve.  A great opportunity on a Wings run with Datsyuk and Cleary.  There are 21 points to work with so what questions marks there are, can be replaced.  How will the Co-owners handle polishing this team off remains to be seen.  If there is one drawback here, it might be their inexperience.
65 3 1676 (H2 - 1962,
L13 - 771)
No panic with Dallas players Benn and Morrow and that may still pay off in spades.  They are still fringe and a few loses might change what gets done with them come the NHLP Deadline, but the nice thing is with Calgary (Jr) being killed by injuries, expect a lot of points here to be able to be moved.  Still some top seeded players and potential here.
60 6 1415 (H2 -
1962, L13 -
771)
Datsyuk and Cleary and 11 points to work with.  Sharp has been gold and is rated, but nothing is secure there as far as him yet being a playoff guy.  But what a playoff guy he could be!  Benn and Morrow, will likely never be rated again (this year anyhow) as the Stars aren't looking like they are magically going to start winning.  At 1-8-1 in their past 10, no team has been worse.  Mike and Ray are going to have to be busy late, this NHLP season.
55 4 1624 (H2 - 1962, L13 - 771) Maverick and Goose were scoring more when Datsyuk and Cleary were long term injuries.  Still 18 points clear of 5th, but things appear to be getting tighter now, ever so slowly.  There is no doubt there are a ton of assets here, but the goal has to be, to be a buyer at the NHLP Trading Deadline, not a seller.  Could use Benn back sooner than later.
50 1 1908 (H2 - 1962, L13 - 771) Maverick:  Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby.
Air Boss Johnson:  That's a negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.

These two guys are cowboys, Maverick and Goose.  What fear?  The fear was this team might lose some ground without top guns Datsyuk and Cleary for a month.  Well, those two players had no points in January.  Not one!  Did not matter one bit as Benn, Morrow and Sharp got 29 between them and these Jets are now fearless.  This is an awesome team with an opportunity to win it all on a Detroit run to the finals.
45 2 1962 (L13 - 771) No only have they been able to weather the Datsyuk and Cleary injuries, they youngest GM's in the NHLP have pulled away from 5th since last rating.  A season high CTR and a team that is very West with 6 players from the Wings, Stars and Hawks.  With 31 points over 5th, they can change that if they want, but this high on the CTR means, no matter what, this is one of the leagues best.
40 3 1851 (L13 - 771) Word of advice:  Don't add more Wings right now ok?  Datsyuk, Clearly and Eaves are a great threesome and have been meeting in the medical room all at once of late.  It is all good here though.  The Jets are refueled and have 28 points to work with, holding off the competitors before getting healthy again.  We expect this division to get very close by the end of the month and with the injuries would be a great time for Sharp, Benn and Morrow to get hot.  All-in-all however, this team is good and will be tough to beat when all is said and done.
35 6 1420 (H2 - 1559, L13 - 771) Didn't really fall as much in the CTR, as just got passed by a few teams.  That is all minor stuff as this team remains solid.  This team has great position but will be losing it by the week until healthy now.  Mike and Ray will count on that current 29 points they are over 5th, to carry them through injuries to Datsyuk and Cleary who are both gone for at least 10 games each.  NEW YEAR'S WISH:  Stay as high in the standings as possible until healthy.  A Wings run to the Cup can easily bring the NHLP Cup back to Canada after an 18 year drought (But finally with 9 out of 24 teams based in Canada, odds are we'll win one at some point.)
30 2 1559 (L13 - 771) Gotta love Datsyuk!  If Crosby is the NHLP's league MVP, Datsyuk is likely a close second.  Two Wings here for the co-GM's.  A valuable low number in Kadri to unload Bourque when the time is right.  Has 30 points to move in a deal, so these Jet's have our attention in a big, big way.  (“Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. I have the only gun on board. Welcome to Con Air.” - Con Air)
25 2 1510 (L13 - 771) Datysuk, Cleary and Morrow all top seeded players in the West.  On top of this, 21 points to work with.  Now you have our attention.  GREAT WORK GUY!
20 8 1235 (L13 - 771) Have you ever watched the TV program "May Day?"  Well it is really good!  It is about true stories, of plane crashes, or almost plane crashes.  Sometimes the pilot and co-pilot are good enough, or lucky enough, one the same, to pull the plane out of what appears certain disaster.  It is a great program.  Check it out!
15 13 771 (H6 - 1149) "MAY DAY, MAY DAY, MAY DAY."  No, not Brad May scoring that unforgettable goal, although I love hearing that, this May Day is a plane, namely a JET, plummeting from the sky.  This team is up 15 points on a playoff team and outscoring the Division in the West.  What is falling is the CTR as only Datsyuk, Cleary and Morrow are even rated here.  Now with Doan hurt the position likely won't improve by next ranking so the Co-Owners need to hope Chicago, Calgary, Florida or Phoenix improve in the NHL standings for any hope of restarting engine 4.
10 11 965 (H6 - 1149) OK, maybe Bourque is good!  After being trashed by the CTR, Bourque decides to win player of the week, with 6 points and 9 over a 4 game span.  The part that sucks, is he isn't rated in the CTR for the Jets, as the Flames are not seeded.  Dallas and Florida also took a NHL standings tumble, hurting the CTR.  GM's Mike and Ray have a boat load of points to give and are stretching that out daily with injuries throughout the West behind them, so all is well in Jets Land.
5 6 1149 These kids are good!  Well, maybe not Bourgue and Frolik who have zero points yet.  OK, maybe not Doan who isn't rated and clearly now is a goon more than a point getter.  But you have to like Sharp and Morrow!!!  This team can only go the right way, UP!  We love it's potential but it isn't something they want to sit on.  Early action could make something here worth writing about.
